Taking its name from its original venue, Enterprise Square (UofA downtown campus), the Quartet now presents concerts across a variety of venues, including Winspear Centre and Edmonton City Hall. Since Fall 2009, the EQ performed over 20 different programs, covering cycles of masterworks by Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Brahms, and even premiering works by graduate composers from the Department of Music. Guest University scholars often introduce EQ concerts, and the ensemble occasionally features other faculty instrumentalists or outstanding Music Department students. This project was initially supported by grants from the Killam Cornerstone Research Fund, the Faculty of Arts and the Skarin Community Fund.

The EQ's 2011-2012 season will be sponsored by the Edmonton Community Foundation, Alberta Foundation of the Arts and the Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies, in partnership with the Winspear Centre, Edmonton Public Libraries, and CBC/Radio-Canada.
